Naloxone, better known as Narcan, is a life-saving medication used to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose
EVERYONE SHOULD CARRY NALOXONE!
- Especially if you have a family member, friend or loved one who:
- Has or has had problems with using Opioids (Heroin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, etc.)
- Has been recently released from incarceration and has a history of an Opioid Use Disorder
- Has been recently discharged from inpatient treatment for Opioid Use Disorder or is new to treatment for their Opioid Use Disorder
- Is prescribed opioid pain medication and who are elderly or in the past has had problems remembering when and if they have taken their medications

- We are currently the CCE (Centralized Coordinating Entity) for Monroe and Pike counties and can be contacted to provide quantities of Naloxone free of charge to organizations in those two counties, that provide services/supports to individuals currently using substances, individuals with substance use disorders and/or opioid use disorders currently engaged in treatment and/or in recovery and/or leaving county or state correctional facilities, law enforcement agencies, EMS, Fire fighters, and other first responder organizations serving individuals and communities impacted by substance use that are organized and trained to respond to overdose emergencies.
